Unlocking Sustainable Futures: Yangi's Journey Towards Meaningful Impact

Welcome to the forefront of sustainable innovation with Yangi, where we're not just envisioning a greener future, but actively shaping it through our commitment to sustainability.

As pioneers in industrial machinery within the sphere of disruptive packaging manufacturing machines for fiber-based packaging, we are steadfast in our commitment to advancing sustainability through innovation and responsible business practices. Sustainability is woven into the very fabric of our company, and we understand that to truly make a difference, we must first identify where our efforts will have the greatest impact.

Enter the materiality assessment – a cornerstone of our sustainability strategy. This comprehensive process allowed us to pinpoint the most pressing environmental, social, and governance issues facing our company and stakeholders. By meticulously analyzing inputs from various sources, including our valued customers, dedicated employees, and conscientious investors, we've distilled our focus down to the three priorities that will guide our journey in the years to come. Join us as we unveil our top sustainability priorities, not just within our company, but across the wider world we all call home.

Environmental Impact

Raw Material Sourcing & Climate Impact

At Yangi, we recognize the urgent need for transformative action to address the environmental challenges facing our planet, and our contribution starts with offering fibre-based packaging alternatives to plastic, utilizing raw materials that originate from sustainable and renewable sources.

Within our innovative dry forming technology, Cellera, we prioritize certified wood pulp fibers sourced from sustainable forestry practices, fostering forest regeneration, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem integrity. By utilizing certified fresh fibers, Yangi actively contributes to forest conservation, mitigating deforestation, and minimizing habitat destruction, thus safeguarding natural resources for future generations.

Our R&D team prioritizes the continuous exploration and evaluation of new raw material sources to expand our material portfolio, enhance our offerings to customers, and bolster the resilience of our supply chain.

Additionally, our innovative technology revolutionizes the packaging industry by significantly reducing CO2 emissions from the production of packaging. Through this, we not only alleviate pressure on our planet's ecosystems but also enhance the health and well-being of communities worldwide.

Internally, we hold ourselves to the same high standards of sustainability that we advocate for in the wider industry. We are continuously tracking, evaluating, and optimizing not only the emissions from our technology but also our company-wide carbon footprint, continuously identifying areas of improvements.

Finally, one of our priorities is minimizing our environmental footprint throughout the entire lifecycle of our technology and the final products it produces. By performing Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) we can have a holistic view of our supply chain, our technology and its final products, identifying hot spots for improvements and guiding our decisions to continuously deliver a more sustainable solution.

Resource Management

Energy & Waste Management

Central to our mission is the promotion of a circular economy, where resources are used efficiently, products are designed for recycling, and waste is minimized.

Currently, the world is grappling with multiple energy crises, including climate change driven by fossil fuel emissions, energy poverty affecting millions without reliable access to power, and resource depletion leading to concerns over future energy security. Wasteful consumption exacerbates these challenges, emphasizing the urgent need for improved efficiency and sustainable energy sources. Yangi is actively engaged in tracking and developing methods to broaden our energy monitoring capabilities, with the goal of consistently enhancing our efficiency both in-house as well as within our solution.

Additionally, there is a mounting concern over waste accumulation, particularly driven by the rampant proliferation of plastic pollution, which is causing environmental degradation and endangering marine ecosystems. The overflow of landfills due to increasing waste generation poses significant risks to public health and the environment and inadequate recycling infrastructure exacerbates these issues.

Cellulose fibers, the primary material in Yangi's packaging products, uniquely align with global recycling systems, with over 70% recyclability and the potential for fibers to be reused more than seven times. This promising attribute not only reduces global waste but also fosters a circular economy, where resources are continually recycled and reused.

As for within our dry forming solution, optimizing the use of our raw materials within our technology is a top priority. Our dual drum formation enables us to produce discrete pads of cellulose fibers, ultimately reducing trim waste and startup waste. Prioritizing waste reduction in manufacturing process is crucial for resource efficiency, cost savings, and energy conservation, all contributing to a more future-proof solution.

Growth & Development

Product Safety & Quality

Legislation, compliance, and certification expectations for the production of packaging is shifting towards greater emphasis on sustainability, environmental protection, and circular economy principles. Governments worldwide are enacting stricter regulations and standards to reduce packaging waste and promote recycling, including extended producer responsibility schemes and bans or restrictions on single-use plastics.

Also, certification and labelling programs, such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and carbon footprint labelling, are gaining traction, fostering transparency and accountability in the supply chain. Overall, companies are increasingly expected to adopt more sustainable packaging solutions and demonstrate their commitment to environmental responsibility to meet evolving regulatory requirements and consumer demands.

Consequently, packaging producers encounter numerous challenges stemming from these evolving regulations and certification requirements. At Yangi, we diligently monitor this landscape, not only ensuring our compliance but also adeptly guiding our customers towards the most appropriate courses of action.

Furthermore, quality assurance and consistency are paramount in securing the enduring sustainability and environmental accountability of a product across its life cycle. At Yangi, prioritizing quality and safety remains a priority. Our dedicated team diligently strives to deliver products that are not only high-quality and safe but also efficient and compliant, providing consumers with an unparalleled experience.

Sustainability & Responsibility: An Ongoing Journey

We recognize that our journey towards sustainability is ongoing, and that continuous improvement is essential. As such, we are committed to regularly evaluating and improving our environmental performance, setting ambitious targets for ourselves, and implementing measures to achieve them.

We are committed to fostering a culture of environmental stewardship within our organization and among our partners and stakeholders. We promote awareness of sustainability issues and empower our team to drive positive change. Last but not least, we actively collaborate with suppliers, customers, and industry partners to develop and implement best practices that promote environmental sustainability.

At Yangi, we believe that business success and environmental stewardship are not mutually exclusive but rather complementary objectives.

By harnessing the power of innovation and embracing our responsibility to future generations, we are committed to creating a more sustainable and resilient world not only for the world but within our company as well.
